What are the worship services like?
The music is wonderful, heartwarming and worshipful! The congregational singing fills the room. People sing from the heart. The choir ministry is amazing for a church like ours. Pastor Wood normally begins a sermon with these words, “Please turn in your Bibles to…” The rest of the sermon focuses on explaining that portion of the Bible in understandable applicable terms. Week after week as we gather we’re aware of the truth in the Bible that “God is with us!”
What do I wear?
Obviously, our focus is on worshipping the Lord Jesus, not on impressing people with a fashion show. That said, most people want to dress appropriately for a public event. Typically, men at GBC wear business casual or a suit coat and tie. Ladies wear business attire, dresses, or dressy slacks.
What else happens on Sunday?
You are invited to attend our children’s Sunday School classes or Adult Bible fellowships at 9:30 a.m. We have classes for each age group of children. We have a variety of classes available for adults.
Following our morning worship service many enjoy fellowshipping around the meal table. Some Sundays we have a catered meal available. Other Sundays we share a dish. On other Sundays each family provides their own picnic style meal. Many families enjoy going out to eat at a nearby restaurant.
Our afternoon service at 1:15 p.m. provides opportunity for more singing, church family fellowship, and instruction from the Bible.
The rest of the day on Sunday is dedicated to family time and rest—so necessary in our busy Atlanta culture.
What else happens on other days?
We have a ladies Bible study that meets on a weekday evening. We have a weekly men's prayer fellowship on Saturday mornings. Our midweek service begins at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening with prayer meeting and Bible study for adults, youth group, and Kids4Truth.
Can I meet the pastor?
You certainly may meet with Pastor Wood. Feel free to contact the church to set up an appointment. The contact page will give you several convenient options for getting a hold of Pastor.
What does the church believe?
Briefly stated, we believe God is almighty and holy. We believe that every man is a sinner and cannot save himself. We believe that Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to provide salvation, a restored eternal relationship with God, for all who will turn to Him believing in Him. We believe a local church exists to help people live for God. You can read our doctrinal statement here.
How do I become a member?
We'd love to have an opportunity to minister to you as a member of our Grace Baptist family. If you're interested in becoming a member read over the information we have here.
